Ingredients
- 2 flatbreads (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce (homemade or high-quality store-bought)
- 6 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, torn into chunks
- 2-3 ripe tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Optional: red pepper flakes for a little kick
Directions
Step 1
Preheat your Fuego Pizza Oven
Step 2
Flatbread Base: Place the flatbreads on a baking sheet or pizza stone and lightly drizzle with olive oil.
Step 3
Mozzarella Medley: Scatter the torn mozzarella chunks evenly across the flatbread.
Step 4
Tomato Tapestry: Arrange the tomato slices over the cheese. Sprinkle oregano and minced garlic evenly across the flatbreads.
Step 5
Bake to Crispy Perfection: Place the flatbreads in the preheated oven and bake for about 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the edges of the flatbread are crispy and golden.
Step 6
Fresh and Flavorful Finish: Remove the flatbreads from the oven and immediately scatter the torn basil leaves over them. Drizzle the extra-virgin olive oil over the top. Season with salt, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.
Step 7
Slice and Share: Allow the flatbreads to cool for a minute, then slice them into wedges or squares. Serve as a wonderful appetizer or a light meal, and watch them disappear.
